Jessica's Quinceañera | Cinderella's Sweet 15

I have the fortunate blessing to not only work as an event planner but I also teach ballet, so when my students' parents send me referrals, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and humbled by their confidence in me. This is how my story with Jessica began. Her younger cousin is my student and her mother referred Jessica and her family to me.
The most beautiful ceremony was
held in honor of Jessica
I really can't stress how blessed I've been with the most amazing students and parents, so working with Jessica's family was a piece of cake! This family didn't want anything more than just a sincere and honorable presentation of their daughter as she turned into a young lady. I was more than happy to be a part of that experience.

Throughout the years I've witnessed a change in Quinceañeros and Sweet 16's in which what once was an elegant tradition has turned into an enormous affair filled with all of the glitz and glamour that usually encompass a wedding. Although I love all the glitz and glamour (Seriously, who doesn't?) it is incredibly refreshing to be part of an event that truly celebrates the essence of a Quinceañera and that was exactly what Jessica and her family wanted... and had

The most memorable moment of the day, for me at least, was at the ceremony. The priest mentioned  how he has had the privilege to witness Jessica's life first hand. She was an alter server when she was younger and he knew every single person in her family and her court since she was born. He explained to the congregation how rare it was for him to say that because well... most children don't like going to church. But Jessica did. There wasn't a dry eye during the ceremony! It was truly beautiful.

Jessica didn't wear a stitch of makeup until she arrived at her party. Her godmother had the privileged of putting on her first stroke of blush and her father had the honor of putting on her first "high heels". From the her last doll, to the full 30 member court (yes THIRTY), this Quinceañera upheld all the traditions that seem to have been lost within our intermixed American/Hispanic culture. It was a true privilege to be transported to a time where little girls, were still little girls and the innocence of youth were still present in this modern world.

I had such a great time working with Jessica making sure her special day was flawless and honestly, it was.  Even the clouds that rained on us earlier throughout the day, opened up for her and let the sun shine through.

Happy Sweet 15 Jessica!

"Loving God, you created all the people of the world and you know each of us by name. We thank you for Jessica, who today celebrates her fifteenth birthday. Bless her with your love and friendship that she may grow in wisdom, knowledge, and grace. May she love her family always and be faithful to her friends".
