Hello 2013! The Year To Shine

Happy New Year sweet friends! Thank you so much for following along and being part of this crazy journey of mine. It has been absolutely wonderful and I've had the best of times chronicling my adventures through this blog. I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have!

I've decided to give you all a quick preview of the top 3 thing I think (and other notable experts) we'll be seeing in 2013 in terms of weddings and events. I hope this helps you all find a little bit of inspiration or some clarity when planning your special day. You know I'm always here to help when you need me! Here's to another amazing year full of surprises, adventures, lessons and love!! XOXO

SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND

Quite possibly my favorite trend of all time. SPARKLES. I truly feel like this trend should have never died, but as always with fashion, it has made a full circle and the sequins we saw in the 80's have come back. THANK GOODNESS! I can never have enough! Don't be afraid to be daring ladies (and gentlemen!). A little bit of sequins on a sash or linens can really make your wedding or special event glamorous.

Simple & Sweet

If you have a Pinterest account you have seen a slew of gorgeous cakes. It's incredible how many talented and creative people there are out there. I am always left in awe when I see what the next creation looks like. I believe 2013 is going to see a hike in simplicity. We've seen the 5 tiered cakes with the billowing flowers for years now. Maybe it's the economy (cakes are expensive) or just the general need to simplify life, we're seeing more simple and modest cakes. But don't be fooled! These cakes may look "simple", but they are definitely in a class of their own. It's still a lot of work! Follow more of my cake favorites on my Pinterest account by clicking HERE

Luxurious Gems

Obvious, I know. But just in case you've been living under the radar (which is totally acceptable) emerald green is the Pantone color for 2013! The color green has always signified a sign for healing, life, growth and offers a sense of renewal and freshness. Is there not a better way to start off the new year with a dash of renewal!?! Like most people, I've always associated the color with luxurious gemstones worn by the most sophisticated. I'm thinking that we'll be seeing many couples take this opportunity to add a touch of elegance and luxury with a pop of emerald green!

Pantone.com says it best: "Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony."
.

Maybe we'll see some Emerald Green Brides/Bridesmaids?!?

I hope this helps your planning for 2013! It's going to be an amazing year!
